Do's

  • Go through your kitchen and get rid of all foods high in saturated fats and cholesterol. Major culprits are butter, whole milk, fried and fatty snacks and foods.

  • Enlist family and friends to help. Shop together.
  • Substitute healthy low fat foods for unhealthy foods you used to eat.
  • Find healthy low-fat snacks.
  • Load up on fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grain foods.
  • Eat foods with "Good Fats and Oils" such as olives, grilled fresh fish.
  • Learn more about cholesterol and saturated fats. Consult with your doctor and a dietician to find out more.

Don'ts

  • Don't keep unhealthy foods in your house.
  • Don't eat fast food.
  • Don't eat foods high in saturated fat and cholesterol such as bacon, butter and whole milk. Find healthy substitutes.
