Low Fat Diets - Do's and Don'ts...
Do's
- Go through your kitchen and get rid of all foods high in
saturated fats and cholesterol. Major culprits are butter, whole milk,
fried and fatty snacks and foods.
- Go on a "Healthy Shopping Spree"
- Enlist family and friends to help. Shop together.
- Substitute healthy low fat foods for unhealthy foods you
used to eat.
- Find healthy low-fat snacks.
- Load up on fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grain foods.
- Eat foods with "Good Fats and Oils" such as olives, grilled
fresh fish.
- Learn more about cholesterol and saturated fats. Consult
with your doctor and a dietician to find out more.
Don'ts
- Don't keep unhealthy foods in your house.
- Don't eat fast food.
- Don't eat foods high in saturated fat and cholesterol such
as bacon, butter and whole milk. Find healthy substitutes.
